This was a rollercoaster. Now, I still don’t know how I feel about the prequel, A Lush Triangle, but this was written so well, probably because it’s longer and gave the author a chance to really give the characters depth.
I was really grateful for the background though, it made reading this book a little easier, I wasn’t wondering what was going on, why what happened did happen, and other such questions.
Through the whole book, the readers can just feel the tension between Joss and Tammy like a rubber band stretched to its limit and about to snap. When it does snap, you won’t be disappointed, I know I wasn’t.
Along with the tension and angst, this author knows how to write complex and emotional characters. I would be laughing at one point and angry the next, I almost cried near the end.
This book tends to deal with some heavy issues that I don’t think I’ve seen in many books, a few but not many, and while it’s not as intense as those other books I’ve read, it’s still dealt with so, I don’t feel the need to issue a warning.
I would recommend that you read the prequel before reading this book, that way you know what went down and why, although it doesn’t justify it.
Thank you for reading my review.
