Review: I’m bored…I’m so bored that I’m literally just skipping pages to see if I miss anything and I’m not missing anything. This is going to be added to the DNF pile.

I was thinking that it was going to be what it looked like, the cover promoting an erotic type of story and sure enough, that’s what it was. There was something different to it though, a mystery. Someone trying to kill Breezy. The mystery, plus a few interactions between Xan and a few of the men had me wanting to continue on. I had my thoughts on who it could be that wanted Breezy dead, but there’s always that thought of ‘what if I’m wrong?’ and you want to continue.

At 27%, the author reveals the one trying to kill her and their motivations for doing so. Gee, thanks. The one main saving grace for this book and it’s been solved for the reader. That’s when I got bored and started skipping more than I was skipping before. I lost all interest.

Even the banter was starting to run dry, it was funny in the beginning, but when it’s pretty much the same thing over and over again, it gets stale.

I’m also not liking the deep insights into the other wolves, but I guess when you have a stale main couple, you need to pad up the word count with the others.

Another fact I didn’t like was that Breezy had a stalker after her…she was nearly killed on multiple occasions…nearly got her head ran over…and the first thing they really start talking about is getting into each others pants? The mystery took a major back seat to all the sex.

And that’s another thing! The double standard! Oh my goodness, can we stop with the trope of the double standard? Man wants pure girl, but his girl is actually the one that he thinks isn’t pure but he sleeps around like it’s no big deal? So, you want someone pure, but your mate has to take someone who isn’t pure? Master key, crap lock situation. Honestly, I want a story where the main female is sexually active and doesn’t care.

Actually! We did get a story with that! Shadow Keeper, by Christine Feehan.
