In Beartooth, Montana, land and family is everything. So when Destry Grant’s brother is accused of killing Rylan West’s sister, high school sweethearts Destry and Ryan leave their relationship behind in order to help their families recover from tragedy.
Years later, Destry is dedicated to her ranch and making plans for the future. Plans that just might include reuniting with the love of her life…until her brother returns to clear his name and the secrets of the past threaten her one chance at happiness.
Rylan is done denying his feelings for Destry. But when clues begin to link her brush with death to his sister’s murder, will discovering the truth finally grant them their chance at love or turn them against one another for good?
Review: Along with this book, I also read the short story prequel, Fallen. Apparently I didn’t think that that needed it’s own review, so I just have this little mention of it in my journal. Then, before these two, I had read the second book first. Backwards.
I gotta say, this author can hook even a reader that is mainly in the supernatural/paranormal genres. I have to give the author credit for everything she puts into her stories.
Now, while I was hooked, I did have a little problem with how all over the place the POV’s were. I would get a little thrown off when it shifted to someone else for just a brief time and then go to the main story, only to go back to one of the…three? side stories?
Maybe a little back tracking here, but while the writing was engaging enough to keep me reading…I couldn’t really feel too much emotion. I wasn’t getting emotionally connected with the characters. That’s the reason for the four stars instead of 5, the POV thing I could have dealt with, but that coupled with little emotional connection? I had to take a star off.
I would recommend this to any adults who like a good romance out there with a good story.
Thank you for reading my review.
