Blurb: Before there is peace, blood will spill blood…
New territory brings new troubles for the fierce cats of the warrior Clans, who are still uncovering the secrets of their new home around the lake. Dangers they have never faced before are lurking in the twilight shadows, and former allies are acting strangely hostile.
As divisions between the Clans grow deeper, Firestar’s daughters face troubling decisions. One is torn between loyalty to her calling and a forbidden love, while the other struggles with her best friend’s betrayal and the surprising perils of the forest. The choices they make now could affect ThunderClan for generations to come . . . and with an unexpected enemy preparing to attack, their courage and strength will be needed more than ever if the Clan is to survive.
Review: Right from the beginning this book messes with the readers emotions, talking about a cat who’s going to die and they don’t know when. Pulls right at the heart strings.
I think I remember when I first read this, I didn’t see the very subtle clues as to who the cat was but now that I know, it’s easy to see.
The classic cover for this book isn’t as awe-inspiring as the others, it just seems a little busy, and don’t get me started on that new cover. I wish something could have been done with the WindClan moors or the Moonpool. I also wish they hadn’t gone with the uncomfortable close ups, at least on the classic covers, readers could guess at who the cats were.
I think there was a lot going on here so I couldn’t get my full emotions invested when that cat died, even though it was such an emotional part, there was just so much going on around it.
The pace was great for the story but with all that going on, everything seemed rushed. I do like the three stars that are shown to kick off the next series.
Thank you for reading my review.
