Blurb: Long before she troubled the dreams of Crookedstar or Tigerclaw, Mapleshade was a warrior of ThunderClan. But then the Clans cast her out as a traitor—and she vowed to seek her revenge….
Review: Ever since the first time I read Crookedstar’s Promise, I had always wondered about Mapleshade’s story and now I got to read it. I admit that I could never see her as a decent cat but now, I can see her in a slightly better light.
I do feel like ThunderClan over-reacted when they found out about her kits but maybe that’s just because I read The Prophecies Begin books and the half-clan kits were kept in the clans they were raised in. I was going to say maybe it was because they were already grown but that can’t be true because in Crookedstar’s book, they fought to keep the half-clan kits.
Also, I thought she was just stupid trying to get her kits to swim when it was storming. She should have found shelter and waited until the storm passed.
I also have to wonder how the clan got on without a medicine cat, it never said.
The cover is generic and the pace for the story was good, even though it’s a novella, it tells a full story.
Thank you for reading my review.
