Blurb: She’s running from her past. And running out of time.
Claire Wiche is an ordinary woman, running her Wicca shop in an ordinary California beach town. But Claire wasn’t always ordinary, and she isn’t quite human. She hides a secret, and a past she thought she had put behind her.
A past that is about to explode into her present.
When it does, and everyone she loves is in danger, Claire must face up to her past – and become what she left behind in order to save them.
Review: Thank you Paranormal 13 box set for not completely disappointing me!
I loved this book! It was so interesting and engaging, I was actually able to connect to these characters. I was so caught up in what was happening that I did not, could not, put it down. After the last two books, I was kind of scared to give this one a try but, I’m so glad I did, it was amazing.
The descriptions were not overwhelming, it was action-packed, it was focused, and had a fantastic cliff-hanger that left this reader begging for more.
Granted, it was a short story but, I feel that if it had been longer, it really would have taken away from the book. Each character was their own person and they didn’t change, even when two of them got together, they never changed or tried to change each other.
Oh! Questions! I had questions, which just adds to my desire to go after the next books. I was hooked right at the start but, I can say that for the last book I reviewed, Guardians: The Girl however, this one did not drag and actually kept my attention.
This is how a good story is supposed to be written, this is what readers are looking for. I feel like, with the last couple of books, I’ve lost my connection that I felt with this one and I’m so glad it’s back, it has restored my faith.
I knew that there was going to be a big reveal and something was up with Claire but, what happened was so shocking and such a good twist, I was holding my kindle right up to my face, on the edge of my seat.
I’m so in love with this book that I’m glad that I was off yesterday and didn’t have to go to work until late today just so I could read and finish it. I would highly suggest this book to anyone that’s looking for something a little different in the witch genre.
Thank you for reading my review.
