Blurb: Her name is Luna. After escaping a terrifying relationship, she leaves her family and home town..disheartened.
After meeting Michael…Luna couldn’t resist. Her mind was spinning. She had told him the truth and he didn’t believe her. Placing her hands on his chest she felt his heartbeat like the thumping foot of a rabbit…until something completely unexpected happened. It has to do with her past. She might not make it alive.
Review: This was good but I do have a few problems with it. First off, it was too much of a story packed into a too small book. Like the author tried to compact a full novel into a novella and it just didn’t quite work out.
The second this is that because of that, the connection to the characters and the romance between them suffered. I couldn’t really feel anything for them.
The good things about this book though is that it does tell a story in so few pages. It’s a pro and a con. The writing was good, good enough to keep me reading but it didn’t really pull me into the story. Short enough to finish the same day, a quick little read.
Oh! Another thing to put under the con list is how quickly they got married. Wouldn’t a survivor of domestic abuse and stalking be wary of falling so quickly or someone? And three months? Couldn’t the author have given the couple more time to really get to know one another? I don’t think three months is a good enough timeline for them but the author does say that this is based off a true story, so I don’t know.
Thank you for reading my review.
