Review: I wanted to enjoy this book, I really did. I will admit to liking Twilight when I read it back in high school; I’ll be re-reading the saga for review when I catch up on my Author TBR list and other books I need to read, and this book was almost like that but a bit more intense.

For the first few chapters, I did enjoy this book. It was different, something interesting until I got to chapter six and I realize that I’m bored and it’s basically on repeat with “I’m a monster, I’m a monster, I’m a monster,” over and over and I just wanted it to get on with the story.

Even when the plot started to get going, I found myself skipping over things, important things, because she was agonizing over being a monster yet again and she sometimes didn’t make sense, she was just all over the place. Example, something happens and she and this boy almost get into a wreck but instead of wondering what happened, she’s just worried that he saw her brother.

The writing was fine, like I said, I enjoyed the story up to a point until it started to bore me, the pace went so slow that every time I had to set the book down, I really didn’t want to pick it up. By chapter eight, I felt like I was forcing myself to continue.
