Review: Usually, I’m not really into anything medical unless it’s a show, like Grey’s Anatomy or House because then I can just ignore the medical talk and focus on the drama but that’s usually not the case with books. You have to pay attention to everything or you may miss something.

This book was rather enjoyable and while there was a bit of medical jargon, it wasn’t enough to throw me out of my reading groove.

This had a subtle creepy feeling to it and while it wasn’t anything supernatural, the authors decision of letting the readers into the head of The Giver was a great idea because he pulled it off. I got chills down my spine. It kept the mystery going strong and the emotion high.

Now I wouldn’t say that I love this book but I did enjoy it. I do admit to being a little nervous when they made an arrest at the end of chapter 59 when there’s 100 chapters here, I got to wondering if it was just going to be boring trial stuff but the plot twist was excellent.

And his wife! Mr. Rubin, that was evil of you!

I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good mystery/thriller, especially to those who can understand medical talk. The cover is simple, not anything that would make me do a double take but good, the pace is steady for the plot and while I don’t feel a strong connection to the characters, there is a small one.
