This is one of the books with a cover that actually feels gothic. On Amazon, one of the categories for this dark series is gothic. To me, this cover actually gives off the feel of being gothic and it’s just plain beautiful.

This has got to be the sweetest book, from beginning to end it just melts your heart and makes you want to say aww. I really loved that Cullen got his happy ending as well but I really wanted to smack Lisa sometimes. She’s a grown woman who acts like a child who can’t handle anything.

I know she went through a trauma when she was a kid but that doesn’t mean you completely ignore all the bad stuff. If she had listened and stayed put, Dayan could have brought Corrine over much more safely and they could have given the baby some more time.

I would have loved to see Cullen and Gary meet but it’s never been brought up in any of the other books. Maybe in Dark Promises?

The way this book is written, I thought I was going to be so bored with it but it has a great emotional quality to it. There wasn’t any fighting really, just Dayan doing some silent killing and when there was fighting, it was very brief.

The story basically focused on Dayan and Corinne, which I am very happy about because I could really feel a strong connection between them.

Though I am glad the story is written the way it is, I do wish that there wasn’t a step back from the major series long plot. I know it picks back up in Dark Destiny but it feels like the pause button was hit so that this story could take place.

I would recommend this to those are, of course reading the series but, wanting a sweet, actually romantic vampire love story that completely focuses on the couple with tense, emotional moments.

Thank you for reading my review.
