☆☆☆☆/5
With the gaps I have in the story, I actually read this after Not Your Ordinary Faerie Tale and I still don’t have all of the books yet and this one was the first one that I’ve read where both man and woman are Other.
First off, let me talk about that cover. I think it is an absolutely gorgeous cover. I have this silver bookmark with a beautiful heart on top and it looks really good with this cover. I don’t know why I’m being such a nerd about this but, it’s so, so pretty.
Now, onward to my review.
It was rather interesting to see the interaction between them, with them both being Other and the same species. The readers get to read more about werewolf culture by seeing it lived and not told, trying to explain it to a human.
Most of their intimate moments kind of bordered on rape but in the middle, it turned into consent and I would give the reason why but it would kind of spoil the majority of the plot.
Anyway, besides that though, I loved this book. It had action, emotions, and a little mystery thrown in. This woman knows what she wants but sacrifices it for the greater good and she isn’t afraid to stand up to anyone.
I wouldn’t recommend it for those wanting to read fluff but, I don’t think there is any fluff in Christine Warren’s books.
Thank you for reading my review.
