☆☆☆/5

I got this book after I started playing Dungeon and Dragons for the first time and I’m glad that I did because I know that I would have been so lost. I was a little excited when I got it and got around to reading it.

I was a little disappointed in this book. I figured the author wanted to make it sound like Jade was actually telling the story but it didn’t really work out, it kind of took away from the story.

It was short so I didn’t really get to feel any kind of connection between Jade and her love interest, they didn’t spend any time together that wasn’t work related. So when they kissed, it just seemed forced and unnecessary. Maybe it would have been better to have the relationship in the next book? Or to have it more prominent in this one.

The ending wasn’t what I expected either, I was hoping that the big bad would make an appearance but the audience never got to see him. Jade and her love interest just start their relationship, even though there didn’t seem like there should be one right now.

The writing was alright, it kept me slightly interested and the plot was an okay idea. I liked it but it wouldn’t be on my list of recommending books to anyone.

Thank you for reading my review.
