I got to chapter 11 and I just couldn’t do it anymore. When it feels like I’m struggling to reach the end of the book and it’s still basically the beginning, I just have to stop. I really do hate quitting on books but I just get so bored and distracted that I have to move on.
The prologue was great, I basically got my heart ripped out because I quickly got attached to a character and then something happened. The writing was great, there was some action and then I want to throw the book. All in the span of a couple of pages in the prologue.
When chapter 1 started however, things went downhill. The prologue got me excited for an awesome, action-packed book but what happens? From chapter 1 to 11 they basically do nothing but talk, talk, talk. A tiny, tiny bit of action happens but then it’s talk, talk, talk all over again.
I was so bored and when I set the book down, I dreaded picking it back up. I shouldn’t feel that way about a book. I don’t know if it’s because it was written by two authors or what but, I couldn’t continue.
The writing was good and I am curious as to what happens but there shouldn’t have been 11 chapters of just pure talking.
I have been asked if I’ve read Sherrilyn Kenyon and I have other books by her alone so, I’m going to try one of those. Hopefully it’ll be better.
Thank you for reading my review.
