While I’m supposed to be studying for my Biology final, I’m going to procrastinate a bit and write this post. In my last review, Demon’s Curse, I explained a little bit about why I named my blog “Fiction – A Separate World”
Naming my blog was easy for me, even though I never really thought about running a blog before the class I took last semester, where the professor had us make a blog and write what we like or what we’re passionate about.
I had always, for as long as I can remember, called books a separate world when asked why I love reading so much. For me, and I’m sure for a lot of people, reading is an escape and when it’s a really great book, it can transport us into that world.
There’s a reason I can’t get into non-fiction and that’s because it’s all about this world, that we all live in. Now, while I’m sure that I could learn a lot, I just can’t get interested in non-fiction because I have to deal enough with this reality, I just can’t get into reading about someone else’s.
Fiction however, can transport me into a world full of magic, shapeshifters, vampires, epic fights, and mysteries. I think that’s also why I can hardly read fiction that doesn’t have any of that, because it’s too much like this world and I want to escape for a bit.
So my question to you is, how did you come up with your blog name? Was it easy or did you struggle with it? Is there a meaning behind it or did you just like how it sounded?
