The story itself was alright, the Others have been a popular idea for many authors but the idea for the bad guy was something new.
The writing seemed like it just couldn’t make up its mind. There would be action, then a lot of talking, back to a little bit of action and then talking. The beginning had action and I was getting really into it but then they just sat and talked so I was bored until the action started again.
It took me a couple of days to get through this book but I still liked it, I just don’t think this is a five star book.
The couple was good together, they were funny. I can’t remember reading a book where they actually started out friends first, actual friends and not just acting like friends. I really liked that.
The ending was a little anticlimactic. The author built up this big bad and it was over quickly and seemingly very little action even though there was some fighting going on. Maybe if the fight had raged on a little more? Also, I think a series with the big bad would be really great but it gets solved rather quickly.
