This actually had the potential to be a great book but I feel like the author just went in the wrong direction with this.
There are some reviews that I saw on goodreads saying that this book is homophobic, now I, myself, don’t really see that. I do see that she could have written the gay character differently. She didn’t have to make that his one character quality that was mentioned every time he comes in.
I don’t know though, that’s just how I see it. If anyone thinks differently, I would really appreciate a different view of it. All they said on goodreads was that it was homophobic but not why so, I’m a little confused.
Also, I did not like how the author introduced the mystery element. The very first chapter was in the POV of someone who wasn’t mentioned at all in the teaser so, right off the bat, I’m confused and it felt like it was forced.
When the mystery is resolved, it felt anti-climatic and disappointing.
The writing was alright and the characters just seemed one-dimensional, not very developed.
It was…I really can’t think of a better description then eh.
