☆☆/5

I was rather disappointed in this book.

It was boring yet just interesting enough to keep me reading but it was also very frustrating.

The things that were glaring to me was that she just would not listen when he tried to tell her how he really felt, she just shut down and refused to believe it. Though, what happened in their past, I could kind of understand it but, at the same time, you’re a grown woman with a thirteen year old daughter. Stop acting like a child and listen.

Then, the guy had this secret, this reason for doing what he was doing and it was written like it was some big thing, some deep, dark, awful thing when honestly, it wasn’t that big of a deal. I mean, it was but not like that.

Also, the teaser said that Maggie would become her sister, walk in her shoes. Maggie even said that and I guess thought what she was doing was being her sister but, she was not becoming her sister. She interviewed people and specifically said that she was not her sister. That’s not pretending to be her twin, that’s just talking to people about her.

I liked this author’s other books that I read, Fatal Burn and If She Only Knew, but like I said, this was disappointing. I wonder if it’s because it was written in 1998?

The writing wasn’t all that great and the characters were just frustrating. All the repeats of the names was unnecessary, I know who they are, I don’t need five reminders on the same page.

Thank you for reading my review.
