Blurb: Despite dating one vampire and living with another, Rachel Morgan has always managed to stay just ahead of trouble…until now.
A fiendish serial killer stalks the Hollows, and no one living in or around Cincinnati – human, inhuman, or undead – is safe.
An ancient artifact may be the key to stopping the murderer – a mysterious relic that is now in the hands of Rachel Morgan, fearless independent bounty hunter and reckless witch. But revealing it could ignite a battle to the death among the vast and varied local supernatural races.
Rachel’s been lucky so far.
But even she can’t hide from catastrophe forever.
Review: It was better than the last one, only slightly though. It had its funny moments and it was heartbreaking near the end, I’ll gladly give it that. It kept my attention just enough that I wanted to finish it and I didn’t feel like I was constantly fighting to get through it like I did the last one.
While A Fistful of Charms seemed like one long monotonous journey, this was all over the place. It felt like the book had ADD and it was messing with my ADD and made me lose focus every now and again. It was distracting and getting away from the point.
I feel like the author was just trying to pack way too much into this and it didn’t work. They didn’t mesh together for me, I felt like I was in middle school again, struggling to pay attention when someone went off on a tangent that had nothing to do with the lesson. Or when I attend church and put the Pastor’s scriptures up on the computer and he goes on a tangent, I get lost. This book felt like that.
I still have a lot of questions that I know the next books will answer and I still want to go on with the series, I just don’t know when that will be since I only have the first five books.
Thank you for reading my review.
