Blurb: Achievement Unlocked: Geek Virgin
When Mia Strong, proud geek-girl and popular gaming blogger, auctions off her virginity online, she knows she’ll make waves. But what she will not be making is a love connection. Her rules are set in stone: One night. No further contact.
It’s a desperate step, but it’s the only way she can go to medical school and pay her mother’s mounting hospital bills.
Difficulty Level: Millionaire CEO
Adam Drake, the enigmatic auction winner, is a software prodigy who made his first million at seventeen. Now, in his mid-twenties, he’s sexy, driven and–as CEO of his own gaming company–he’s used to making the rules. Before Mia knows what’s happening, he’s found the loophole in the rules of her auction. Every stipulation she’s made to protect her heart gets tossed by the wayside.
She can’t tell if he’s playing her…or if he’s playing for keeps.
Review: I’m not really sure what I expected of this book but, it sure wasn’t getting hooked.
I saw this ad on Facebook with this cover and so I clicked it, wondering what kind of book was it because it was free. When I saw what it was about, I admit, I was rather reluctant to get it but, it was free and it was a filler book while I waited for another to come out.
I honestly didn’t expect to fall in love with the characters. This could have gone the opposite direction and left them shallow and uninteresting but this author went above and beyond, giving both characters so much depth and the backstories really add to the stories in such a way that you can’t help but feel for them.
It was funny too, I was laughing every now and again and smiling. I also got angry with them and at them and I almost cried on the sad parts.
This was such a good book and even though I knew what would happen at the end, the cover kind of gives it away, I was still concerned.
I think I’m coming out of my paranormal shell a bit, I was in this bubble for so long that I’m surprised when I love something that isn’t paranormal.
Give this book a chance, if you like or love the books that I’ve reviewed and given good ratings for so far, I can bet that you’ll fall in love with this book the same way I did.
Thank you for reading my review.
