Blurb: 9 AM EST: A senator shoots himself on national television.

10:32 AM EST: An entire floor of government agents leap to their death from their office building.

12:57 PM EST: All the police officers inside a station murder each other.

And the day has just begun.

Lieutenant Asher Benson left Iraq with a traumatic brain injury, PTSD, and a Purple Heart. His doctors warned that the symptoms would be life altering. They had no idea. As his body healed, the thoughts of those around him began to echo through Ash’s mind, stretching the boundaries of his sanity.

Five years later, Ash is drowning the voices with copious amounts of booze and self-loathing.

When unidentified intelligence agents abduct him in broad daylight, Ash is thrust into a world of espionage and assassinations. A unique terrorist is operating on U.S. soil, and the government needs Ash, and the malady that has plagued him for half a decade, to find the killer.

Review: This was a little different in the books that I usually read, seeing as I usually read paranormal romance but I decided to go in a slightly different direction and try something new. I’m really glad I did. This reader was hooked and laughing throughout the book. Ash, the main protagonist, is a sarcastic and slightly incompetent hero, which we don’t really see in heroes very often; at least not in the books I’ve read.

The hero was dirt poor, bad hygiene, and a drunk; or at least a slightly recovering drunk. Throughout his adventure, I really loved that he kept his smart mouth, sassing the antagonist while he’s trying not to get his butt handed to him.

This book was well written and completely action-packed, the hero gets no rest and gets beat all to hell. There’s really nothing else I can say about it that won’t give away anymore than I’ve already given and I really wouldn’t recommend this book to everyone because not everyone likes reading a bunch of cuss words and all the killing that goes on but, if you want to read a hilarious, bloody book that is filled with plot twists, go for this one.

Thank you for reading my review
